"አለመኖር" by Dr. Dawit Wendimageng

Reading is making meaning from print. It requires that we: Identify the words in print – a process called word recognition. Construct an understanding from them – a process called comprehension. Coordinate identifying words and making meaning so that reading is automatic and accurate – an achievement called fluency. Reading helps to stimulate your mind and divert your focus from issues and problems that are responsible for your stress. A Book has the power to take you to other realms and fill your mind with positivity. You can try reading motivational books and novels.

Reading is important because it develops your mind and gives you excessive knowledge and lessons of life. It helps you understand the world around you better. It keeps your mind active and enhances your creative ability. Communication Skills: Reading improves your vocabulary and develops your communication skills.

If I have told you so much about reading, now let me introduce you a book. The title of the book is ''አለመኖር''.

Alemenor (አለመኖር) is a psychological novel written by Dr. Dawit Wondimagegn in 2009 E.C. Dr. Dawit Wondimagegn is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Addis Abba University School of Medicine and Chief Executive Director of Tikur Anbessa Hospital.

Alemenor (አለመኖር) is an engaging and intense story that integrates psychoanalysis, postmodernism, feminist theory, and issues of power and justice in a way that is simple to read. In his book, Dr. Dawit tries to show a rare blending of the philosophical with the psychological in Ethiopian literature.

The author attempted to persuade the readers that they should be progressive and question what has been accepted as true simply out of custom. It challenges readers to raise a multitude of questions about their daily lives, which they either accept as normal or never thought to investigate.

Moreover, the book encourages individuals, communities, and the government to look inward rather than having the mentality of “I know everything” and imposing their views on others. In addition to that, the author has left questions to allow his readers to derive a better answer and solution to every question and problem thrown their way.
